Linthicum, MD – Last week, K9 teams from the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, Anne Arundel County Fire Department, and DC Fire and EMS participated in a training session. The session took place at the Search and Rescue Assist Training Facility in Linthicum, recognized as a leading USAR K-9 training site on the East Coast.
The training focused on navigating unconventional terrains and encountering unique odors, scenarios not typically available in regular drills. Such sessions are crucial for enhancing the skill sets of the K9s for real-life rescue operations.
Experts from the ATF K9 unit in Virginia contributed their expertise. They updated handlers on the latest program information and training methodologies to reinforce the overall effectiveness of the participants.
