NYPD Investigating Attempted Child Abduction in the Bronx

BRONX, N.Y. — A woman and her 2-year-old child were followed into a laundry room by an unidentified individual on Tuesday evening, according to police reports. The incident occurred at approximately 6:50 p.m. at 988 East 180th Street.

The suspect allegedly grabbed the 23-year-old woman’s arm and demanded that she hand over her child. The mother was able to escape from the individual, police said, and no harm came to the child.

After the confrontation, the individual fled the scene, taking an elevator to the 12th floor of the building, authorities reported. No injuries were sustained during the incident.

Law enforcement continues to investigate, and no arrests have been made as of Wednesday.
