GPS Leads New Jersey Driver onto Tracks In Path of Oncoming Train

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — A vehicle was struck by a train on Morlot Avenue after a driver mistakenly turned onto the railroad tracks, according to the Fair Lawn Police Department. The driver, who was following GPS directions, had exited the vehicle before the train hit, and no injuries were reported.

The incident occurred near the Morlot Avenue railroad crossing, which remains closed as authorities await the arrival of NJ Transit police for further investigation.

In a statement, police urged drivers to remain cautious when following GPS directions, reminding the public to always double-check before making turns or entering highways.

Morlot Avenue will remain closed until the investigation is complete.
