Iphone Crash Alert Leads Georgia Police to Find Two Teens Shot Dead Inside Car

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — Authorities in Douglas County are investigating the deaths of two teenagers who were found critically injured from gunshot wounds in a car on West Stewart Mill Road in the early hours of Saturday, Oct. 12. Deputies were initially dispatched to the scene after an automated iPhone Crash Detection alert was sent to the Douglas County 911 center.

Upon arrival, deputies found no evidence of a collision at the location. Instead, 17-year-old Beatriz Vega and 19-year-old Roberto Deleon were discovered in the front seats of the vehicle, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to the hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is currently tracking leads and evaluating evidence to determine the events leading up to the shooting.
