Suspect charged in fatal Largo shooting of 27-year-old man

LARGO, Md. — A 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Craig Rogers II in Largo last month, Prince George’s County Police announced on Tuesday. The suspect, Malik Watson of Upper Marlboro, faces charges including first and second-degree murder.

Police were called to the 1000 block of Largo Center Drive on September 20 at approximately 1:10 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. Officers arriving at the scene found Rogers, 27, in the roadway with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on-site.

According to the preliminary investigation, Watson and Rogers knew each other, and Watson allegedly shot Rogers before fleeing the scene. Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the shooting.

Watson has been taken into custody and remains at the Department of Corrections. He faces additional related charges.
