D.C. restaurant employee held at gunpoint as armed robber steals cash

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a restaurant in Southeast Washington, D.C., on October 12. The incident took place in the 1500 block of Alabama Avenue at around 2:51 p.m.

According to police reports, the suspect entered the establishment, approached an employee, and threatened them with a gun, demanding cash from the register. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the scene.

Nearby surveillance footage captured images of the individual, which authorities are reviewing in hopes of identifying the suspect. Police have not yet released details about the suspect’s description or whether additional footage has provided further leads.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case, part of an effort to curb violent crime in the District.
