Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests and Drug Seizure

Stafford, VA –  A traffic stop in Stafford County resulted in the arrest of two wanted individuals and the seizure of controlled substances on Monday. At approximately 12:37 p.m., Deputy R.A. Weatherholtz observed a Cadillac with improper registration on Plantation Drive.

The vehicle was stopped on Lichfield Boulevard where Deputy Weatherholtz recognized the rear passenger, Deklyn Atkins, 21, wanted in Caroline County. The front passenger, Jasmine Calhoun, 25, was wanted in Fredericksburg. Both were taken into custody without incident.

Deputy F.A. Martinez and K-9 Mija, trained to detect narcotics, conducted a search of the vehicle. They found narcotics in a box near Atkins’ seat, in driver Dane Wisdom’s backpack, the center console, and his sock. Calhoun’s area had no items of evidentiary value.

Wisdom, 40, faces charges for two counts of possession of controlled substances and is held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
