Prince George’s County police investigate fatal Halloween shooting in Landover

LANDOVER, Md. — A fatal shooting in Landover on Thursday morning claimed the life of a local resident, as Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) investigates what detectives do not believe to be a random crime.

The victim, identified as 29-year-old Tresean Sparrow Bey, was found with gunshot wounds outside a residence on the 900 block of Atlee Drive. Police responded to reports of gunfire around 11:25 a.m. and discovered Bey, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

PGPD’s Homicide Unit has taken charge of the investigation, working to establish a motive and identify any suspects. In a statement, police confirmed that the preliminary evidence suggests Bey may have been specifically targeted.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment. PGPD has urged anyone with details to come forward as detectives continue their search for answers in the Halloween-day killing.

As of Thursday evening, no suspects had been identified, and police have not released further information on potential leads.
