BRONX, N.Y. — An off-duty New York City corrections officer was arrested late Friday night and charged with robbery and assault, police said. Jessica Bella-Flores, 40, was taken into custody at approximately 11:19 p.m. within the confines of the NYPD’s 43rd Precinct in the Bronx.

Bella-Flores, who has worked as a corrections officer for the city, faces charges of second-degree robbery and second-degree assault. Details regarding the circumstances of the alleged offenses were not immediately available, and officials have not disclosed whether the incident involved her professional duties.

This arrest adds to a series of recent incidents involving off-duty city employees, raising questions about the behavior of personnel outside of work. The Department of Correction has not yet issued a statement on Bella-Flores’s arrest, and it remains unclear if she has been placed on administrative leave.

The NYPD and the Department of Correction are expected to review the details of the case as the investigation continues.
