Early-morning burglary in D.C. sparks manhunt for suspect

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Surveillance footage has captured a suspect in a Southeast D.C. burglary, and investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the individual involved in the early-morning break-in.

The incident took place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at around 2:45 a.m., when a suspect entered an establishment in the 1500 block of Alabama Avenue, SE, stole property, and fled the scene.

Video and photos of the suspect were captured by security cameras, showing the individual as they moved through the establishment. The footage, now released by investigators, can be viewed here.

Community members who recognize the suspect or have information related to the incident are urged to contact the tip line at (202) 727-9099 or send information anonymously via text to 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in this case.
