New York State Trooper and Tow Truck Operator Injured in Colonie Incident

Colonie, NY- On Saturday, a New York State Trooper and a tow truck operator were struck and injured by a passing vehicle during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 87 in Colonie, Albany County.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:28 p.m. Following the collision, the tow truck operator was discharged from the hospital, while the Trooper remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Authorities report that the driver of the vehicle, allegedly impaired during the incident, has been arrested and charged. Both injured personnel face lengthy recoveries.

The New York State Police remain focused on the investigation.
