84-Year-Old Man Attacked in Broad Daylight on Park Avenue

NEW YORK — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly assaulted an 84-year-old man on Manhattan’s Upper East Side on Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:49 p.m. in front of 570 Park Avenue, near East 63rd Street. According to police, the elderly victim was standing on the sidewalk when an unknown individual approached him and struck him on the right side of his head and shoulder. The assailant then fled westbound on East 63rd Street towards Madison Avenue.

The victim, whose identity was not released, refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

The NYPD has not yet provided a description of the suspect and is asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

The investigation is ongoing.
