Double shooting leaves one dead, another injured in Philadelphia’s 24th District

PHILADELPHIA — A double shooting in Philadelphia’s 24th District left one man dead and another injured on Wednesday morning, according to police.

The incident occurred around 11:07 a.m. at 100 E Somerset Street. Police responding to the scene found two victims with gunshot wounds. The first victim, a 51-year-old Hispanic male, sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and right leg. He was transported by police to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:27 a.m.

The second victim, a 34-year-old Hispanic male, was shot once in the left shoulder. He was transported by Medic 31 to Temple University Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

The crime scene remains active as investigators work to gather evidence. No arrests have been made, and no weapons have been recovered. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to identify the shooter and determine a motive for the attack.
