CORINTH, N.Y. — The New York State Police are paying tribute today to Trooper Alexander E. Boehm, who died in the line of duty on November 13, 1924. Boehm, who was 32 at the time of his death, is remembered on the agency’s Wall of Honor for his service and sacrifice.
Trooper Boehm passed away at the Central Hotel in Corinth after experiencing chest pains during a patrol. His death occurred shortly after he had undertaken a long, challenging ride from Troy to Corinth, which, combined with a recent injury, is believed to have contributed to his passing.
Two weeks prior, Boehm had been assigned to break saddle horses for Troop G when he suffered a kick to the chest, resulting in a brief hospitalization. Despite this injury, he returned to duty, ultimately embarking on the demanding ride that may have exacerbated his condition.
The New York State Police commemorate Trooper Boehm’s dedication and remember him as part of the agency’s history. His name stands alongside other fallen troopers on the Wall of Honor, ensuring his sacrifice is not forgotten on this solemn 100th anniversary.
