ROSEDALE, Md. – A 21-year-old Maryland man was arrested early Thursday morning in connection with a disruptive car rally takeover in Philadelphia, according to Maryland State Police.

Juawarn Williams, of Rosedale, was taken into custody without incident at 5 a.m. by members of the Maryland Car Rally Task Force in coordination with the Philadelphia Police Department. Authorities say the arrest follows an investigation into Williams’ alleged involvement in a rally that led to public disturbances in Philadelphia.

Williams faces multiple charges in Pennsylvania, including recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, riot, and fleeing a police officer. Details regarding the incident in Philadelphia have not been released, but officials indicated it involved large-scale disruptions tied to car rally participants.

The Maryland Car Rally Task Force, established to curb unlawful car rally activities, worked closely with law enforcement partners in Philadelphia to identify and apprehend Williams. Authorities continue to investigate additional individuals potentially involved in the incident.

Williams remains in custody, pending extradition to Philadelphia to face charges related to the alleged offenses.

Authorities highlight the arrest as a result of coordinated efforts aimed at holding participants in dangerous car rallies accountable.
