Smyrna, DE – Delaware State Police arrested Nasir Wayman, 25, from Smyrna, Delaware, on felony gun and drug charges in Smyrna.

Earlier this month, the Kent County Governor’s Task Force initiated an investigation into Wayman concerning illegal narcotics distribution. During the investigation, it was found that Wayman also had a capias warrant for his arrest. On Monday, at around 7:30 p.m., detectives spotted a Kia Optima driven by Wayman entering the ACME parking lot on East Glenwood Avenue.

When detectives attempted to approach, Wayman fled, discarding drugs during the chase and was eventually caught after a Taser was used. A search of the parking lot, Wayman, and the vehicle revealed approximately 4.05 grams of heroin and a loaded 9mm handgun with an obliterated serial number.

Wayman was taken to Troop 3 and charged with several felony offenses. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution with a $70,000 cash bond.
