Attempted robbery on H Street leads to arrest of Capitol Heights man

WASHINGTON — A robbery attempt on H Street, Northeast, ended with the arrest of a 47-year-old man who allegedly assaulted his victim before fleeing the scene.

The incident happened on Saturday, November 16th, at approximately 5:45 p.m., when the suspect approached the victim in the 600 block of H Street. The suspect, later identified as Antonio Anderson of Capitol Heights, Md., allegedly assaulted the victim and demanded money. The victim escaped to safety while the suspect fled.

Officers investigating the case were able to locate and arrest Anderson shortly after the incident.

Anderson has been charged with assault with intent to rob, according to officials.
