Man stabbed to death on Staten Island, police investigating

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 32-year-old man was fatally stabbed on Staten Island Wednesday evening in an assault near Bay Street and Wave Street, authorities said.

Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 4:42 p.m. and found the victim suffering from a stab wound to the chest. Emergency Medical Services transported the man to Richmond University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.

As of Wednesday night, no arrests have been made, and police say the investigation into the circumstances of the assault is ongoing.

The area surrounding the incident remains under scrutiny as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
