Man slashed in face at Port Authority subway station, suspect sought

MANHATTAN, N.Y. — Police are searching for a suspect who slashed a 26-year-old man in the face early Sunday morning inside the 42nd Street-Port Authority subway station.

The attack occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Nov. 17, 2024, as the victim was walking through the station. According to the NYPD, an unidentified individual approached the man and slashed him with an unknown cutting instrument before fleeing the scene on foot.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was treated for a laceration to the face and is listed in stable condition.

Authorities have not released a description of the suspect and are working to gather additional details as part of the investigation.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the NYPD as the search for the assailant continues.
