Driver killed, another injured in head-on crash on Triadelphia Mill Road

CLARKSVILLE, Md. — Howard County police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred Tuesday afternoon on Triadelphia Mill Road, leaving one driver dead and another seriously injured.

Police reported that the crash took place at approximately 2:53 p.m. in the 13100 block of Triadelphia Mill Road. A 2016 Toyota Corolla traveling east crossed into oncoming traffic for reasons that remain unclear, colliding head-on with a 2017 Toyota 4Runner.

The driver of the Corolla, an adult female and the vehicle’s sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 4Runner, also an adult female and the only occupant, was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries.

Authorities have withheld the identity of the deceased driver pending notification of her next of kin.

The crash closed a portion of Triadelphia Mill Road for about two and a half hours as investigators worked to determine the cause of the collision.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
