Chesapeake police investigating shooting that left one man critically injured

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Police are investigating a shooting that left a man with potentially life-threatening injuries Friday night in the 3000 block of Parkside Drive.

According to the Chesapeake Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunshots in the area at approximately 8:53 p.m. While on their way to the scene, additional calls came in reporting that a person had been shot.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries described as potentially life-threatening.

No additional details about the circumstances of the shooting or any potential suspects have been released as the investigation remains ongoing.

Police continue to investigate the incident and have not yet identified a motive.
