Staten Island man charged with murder in fatal stabbing

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Staten Island man has been arrested and charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 34-year-old inside a Travis Avenue residence early Sunday morning.

Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 1:44 a.m. on November 24 and discovered the victim with a stab wound to the torso inside 446 Travis Avenue. EMS pronounced the man deceased at the scene. His identity has not yet been released as the investigation continues.

Later that morning, at approximately 9 a.m., officers arrested 34-year-old Daniel Perez, who resides at the Travis Avenue address where the stabbing occurred. Perez has been charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal use of a firearm.

Authorities have not disclosed additional details about the circumstances leading up to the stabbing, but the investigation remains active.
