Woman seriously injured in Chesapeake parking lot shooting

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A woman sustained serious injuries in a parking lot shooting outside a business on Indian River Road on Friday afternoon, according to the Chesapeake Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Indian River Road around 4:40 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and her condition has not been updated. Authorities described her injuries as serious.

Police have not released information about any suspects or a motive, and the investigation remains active.

Officials are asking anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
