PERRY HALL, Md. — A retired Perry Hall couple is celebrating a $50,000 Maryland Lottery windfall after matching all five numbers in the Nov. 21 Bonus Match 5 drawing using their own handpicked numbers.

The winning ticket was purchased on Nov. 15 at Honeygo Wine & Spirits, located at 5004 Honeygo Center Drive. As part of their weekly ritual, the couple bought their tickets and stored them on their refrigerator until it was time to check the results a week later.

“My wife wasn’t feeling well and was in bed when I looked at the numbers on my phone,” the husband shared. “When I saw our numbers, I knew right away we won and I had to go wake her up.” After initially fearing something was wrong, his wife recalled, “And then it was right.”

The couple claimed their prize on Nov. 25 at Maryland Lottery Headquarters. They revealed plans to use their winnings for home improvements and a vacation.

Honeygo Wine & Spirits will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize-winning ticket.
