ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — A series of targeted law enforcement operations in Atlantic City has resulted in the arrest of 19 individuals and the seizure of drugs, firearms, and other contraband, the Atlantic City Police Department announced Wednesday.

The operations, focused on Florida, Bellevue, and Texas Avenues, were initiated in response to community complaints about drug activity and quality-of-life issues. Officers arrested suspects, recovered two handguns, and confiscated significant quantities of illegal drugs, including 195 bags of heroin, 117 grams of cocaine, and five grams of methamphetamine.

Police intervened in several narcotics transactions and an active fight, and potentially prevented a shooting when two individuals allegedly retrieved firearms in the Florida Avenue area. Officers arrested the suspects, confiscated the weapons, and seized an illegal dirt bike during the incident.

“These operations were conducted to address ongoing criminal activity and improve conditions for residents and businesses in the neighborhood,” the department stated. The efforts were led by Sergeants Daniel Arra and Christian Ivanov and involved multiple officers over several weeks.

The 19 arrests included a mix of charges, ranging from drug possession and distribution to weapon offenses and simple assault. Among those detained were Isaiah Brown, 20, of Philadelphia, facing multiple counts of drug possession and distribution; Yahsir Brown Sr., 18, of Pleasantville, charged with drug and weapon offenses; and Genesis Silva, 26, of Atlantic City, who faces charges including money laundering.

The Atlantic City Police Department confirmed that the targeted operations will continue in response to community concerns.
