Utica police arrest 18-year-old in connection with Keyamonie Davis homicide

UTICA, N.Y. — An 18-year-old man has been charged with murder in the ongoing investigation into the November 8, 2024, shooting death of Keyamonie Davis, the Utica Police Department announced Tuesday.

Quadir Pinkney, 18, of Utica, was arrested following the execution of search warrants at two locations as part of a joint operation involving the Utica Police Department, the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office, and the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say evidence gathered during the searches, combined with prior investigative findings, led to Pinkney’s arrest.

Pinkney has been charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Officials indicated that additional charges against Pinkney are forthcoming.

Police also stated that more individuals are expected to face charges in connection with the homicide, which remains under active investigation.
