Icy roads cause crash, close Route 220 on Memorial Bridge

KEYSER, Md. — A motor vehicle crash on Route 220 at the Memorial Bridge in Keyser has shut down the roadway indefinitely, according to the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident, which occurred amid icy road conditions, prompted a response from fire and emergency medical services, who remain on the scene. No information has been released about the number of vehicles involved or potential injuries.

Officials are urging motorists to avoid the area, exercise caution, and anticipate delays while crews work to clear the scene and address hazardous road conditions.

The roadway will remain closed until further notice, and drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.

*Update* Police report the road has been reopened.

Update MVC Route 220 Memorial Bridge (Keyser). Units are clear the roadway is back open on both the MD and WV side.
