60-Year-Old man suffers fractured skull and broken jaw in Queens moped bandit

QUEENS, N.Y. — A 60-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck on the head during a dispute at the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard, police said.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at approximately 3:40 p.m., when two unidentified individuals approached the victim and became involved in a verbal altercation. During the exchange, one of the individuals struck the man with an unknown object, leaving him with a fractured skull and a broken jaw, according to authorities.

The assailants fled the scene to an unknown location before police arrived. Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police have not released descriptions of the suspects and are continuing their investigation into the assault.
