Two men arrested in Bronx home as investigation into fatal assault continues

BRONX, NY — Two men were arrested Saturday evening on assault and weapons charges after police responded to a violent incident at a residence on Throgs Neck Expressway that left one man dead.

Officers from the 45th Precinct were called to 1022 Throgs Neck Expressway at approximately 6:10 p.m. on November 30 for a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, police discovered 30-year-old Kristopher Samaroo with significant trauma to his body. Samaroo was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead.

Later that evening, at around 9:30 p.m., two individuals residing in the same home were arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation. Omar Lamoni, 43, and Edwin Nina, 39, both of the Bronx, were charged with assault in the second degree, with Nina also facing a charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Lamoni was additionally charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Authorities have not disclosed the details linking the arrests to Samaroo’s death, and no charges directly related to the fatal assault have been filed.
