WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 32-year-old man was arrested early Thursday morning after assaulting a police officer during a disturbance at a residence in Woodbridge, authorities said.

Officers responded to the 13400 block of Kerrydale Road at 4:48 a.m. on November 30 for a report of an intoxicated individual. Upon arrival, they found a man, later identified as Johnny Francisco Flores Hernandez, partially hanging out of a second-story window.

When officers attempted to detain him, Flores Hernandez actively resisted and bit one of the officers. He was eventually subdued and taken into custody without further incident.

During the investigation, police discovered that Flores Hernandez was in possession of suspected illegal drugs. The injured officer sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.

Flores Hernandez has been charged with malicious wounding of a law enforcement officer, possession of illegal drugs, and disorderly conduct. He is being held without bond, and a court date is pending.
