RANDALLSTOWN, Md. — A retired factory worker from Randallstown struck gold in the December 2 evening Pick 5 drawing, winning a total of $125,000 across three tickets purchased for the same drawing.

The Baltimore County resident won two $50,000 prizes and one $25,000 prize, thanks to two $1 straight bets and one $0.50 straight bet. Checking the Lottery app on his phone, the man was stunned to see his numbers perfectly match the results. “I was like, ‘Wow! I actually won it,’” he said.

The lucky player explained that he plays a $0.50 straight bet for every Pick 5 drawing but adds two $1 straight bets on Mondays and Fridays. His choice to double up paid off when his numbers, based on a relative’s birthday, came through on a Monday evening.

With his winnings, he plans to help his children and grandchildren, as well as pay off his car. “I am going to help my kids, grandchildren, and use the rest to pay off my car,” he shared.

The winning tickets were purchased at Liberty Wine & Spirits on Brenbrook Drive in Baltimore County. The store received a $1,250 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the three lucky tickets.
