Suspect arrested after armed robbery at Dollar General in Absecon

ABSECON, N.J. — Police arrested a man following an armed robbery at the Dollar General on White Horse Pike Friday night, the Absecon Police Department announced.

Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call just before 8:30 p.m. reporting that a male suspect had entered the store, displayed a handgun, and threatened employees while demanding cash. Employees complied, and the suspect fled on foot with the stolen money.

A short time later, officers spotted an individual matching the suspect’s description nearby. After a brief foot pursuit through residential yards, the suspect was detained.

The investigation is ongoing, and the identity of the suspect has not been released.
