Wilkes-Barre man arrested after alleged assault and threats in domestic dispute

WILKES-BARRE, PA — A 59-year-old man was arrested Thursday evening after allegedly threatening a woman with a knife during a domestic dispute on Holland Street, according to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department.

Officers responded to the residence at approximately 7:23 p.m. following reports of a verbal altercation. Upon arrival, the 66-year-old female victim told police that she and the suspect, identified as John Bush of Wilkes-Barre, had argued over his alleged drinking earlier in the day.

During the dispute, Bush reportedly retrieved a knife, placed his hand around the victim’s neck, and threatened her with physical harm, police said.

Bush was taken into custody at the scene and transported to police headquarters for processing and arraignment. Charges against him include assault and making terroristic threats.
