Man crashes car into dealership hours after purchase in dispute over return “all sales final” deal

SANDY, Utah — A man was arrested after driving his recently purchased vehicle through the front of a Mazda dealership Monday, following a dispute over his attempt to return the car, police said.

The incident occurred after the man, whose identity has not been released, was informed by the Sandy dealership that the car had been sold “as-is” and was not eligible for return.

According to witnesses, the man warned dealership staff that he would drive the car into the building if they did not accept the return. A short time later, he carried out his threat, crashing the vehicle through the dealership’s front door.

Police arrested the man at the scene, and no injuries were reported. He has been charged with felony criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.
