Fiery crash in Baltimore claims the life of a 27-year-old woman

BALTIMORE, Md. – A 27-year-old woman died early Saturday morning after a high-speed crash on the 2700 block of W. Northern Parkway left her vehicle engulfed in flames, according to police.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:59 a.m. when the vehicle, traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed, struck a tree and caught fire. Bystanders from passing vehicles stopped to pull the victim from the burning car and move her to safety.

Medics transported the woman to Sinai Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Her identity has not yet been released.

Baltimore’s Crash Team investigators are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
