House fire on Lincoln Drive quickly contained, no injuries reported

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Firefighters responded to a house fire on Lincoln Drive in the Laurel Springs section of Gloucester Township on Tuesday afternoon after a washing machine caught fire.

Gloucester Township Police arrived at 95 Lincoln Drive around 4:30 p.m. and evacuated the home’s sole occupant after observing the washing machine fully engulfed in flames on the lower level of the residence.

Fire crews from Chews Landing, Blackwood, and Pine Hill responded and quickly brought the fire under control. Additional support was provided by Inspira BLS and the Gloucester Township Office of Emergency Management.

The occupant reported no injuries and was able to remain in the residence, as the fire did not render the home uninhabitable. The Gloucester Township Fire Marshall is investigating the incident, which does not appear suspicious.
