Rockville Pike pedestrian fatality under investigation, victim identified

BETHESDA, MD — Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on November 10 at Rockville Pike and Marinelli Drive.

According to police, Derrick Lamarr Fields, 50, of Baltimore, was struck by a 2012 Hyundai Sonata while crossing the street at approximately 10:49 p.m. Fields was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on December 3.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation, with detectives working to determine the events leading up to the incident.
