Maryland State Police investigate death of woman in Chesapeake City

CHESAPEAKE CITY, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating the death of a 29-year-old woman who was found with multiple injuries in Chesapeake City early Wednesday morning.

Police have not yet released the woman’s identity as they await the results of an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore to determine the cause and manner of death.

According to authorities, troopers from the North East Barrack responded to the 800 block of Bethel Road around 6 a.m. on December 18 after receiving a report of a woman suffering from severe injuries. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to ChristianaCare Union Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The investigation is being led by the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division Northern Region. Detectives are actively seeking information regarding the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
