13-year-old and man critically injured in South Philadelphia shooting

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — A shooting near Oregon Avenue on Wednesday evening left a 13-year-old boy injured and a 34-year-old man in critical condition, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:51 p.m. on the roadway near the 100 block of Oregon Avenue. Police say the 13-year-old male was struck once in the left hand and transported to Jefferson Hospital by responding officers.

The second victim, identified as a 34-year-old black man, suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including injuries to his stomach, neck, arm, and hip. He drove himself to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Authorities have not yet identified a motive for the shooting, and no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
