27-year-old man killed in Christmas morning Upper Marlboro single-vehicle crash

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 27-year-old man early Christmas morning in the unincorporated section of Upper Marlboro.

Police identified the deceased driver as Darin Burns Jr., a resident of Upper Marlboro. Officers responded to the 12000 block of Duley Station Road at approximately 3:20 a.m. on December 25, after receiving reports of a single-vehicle collision.

According to a preliminary investigation, Burns Jr. was driving southbound on Duley Station Road when he lost control of his vehicle, which then struck a tree. Burns Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact them at 301-731-4422.
