Pitbull in Barnegat awaits adoption as shelter spotlights Carson

BARNEGAT, N.J. — The Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter is highlighting Carson, a 6-year-old pit bull, as he waits for a forever home after the holidays.

Carson, described as having a shiny white-and-brown coat, has a history of living peacefully with children, cats, and other dogs, according to shelter staff. He is reportedly housebroken and knows basic commands, making him a potential fit for families or multi-pet households.

The shelter, located at 20 Collingstown Rd. in Barnegat, has visiting hours daily from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Carson is one of several pets seeking adoption at the facility, which remains active during the post-holiday season.

“We often see families interested in finding pets after the holidays, and Carson is ready to be that perfect companion,” the shelter shared in a social media post.

Potential adopters can visit Carson during operating hours or reach out to the shelter for more information.
