Man Shot Monday night in Philadelphia, two suspects in custody

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A man was killed in a shooting Monday night on the 700 block of East Willard Street in the city’s 25th District.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m., when the victim, identified as a Black male believed to be around 20 years old, was shot once in the chest. Police transported him to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:41 p.m.

Authorities secured the scene shortly after the shooting, recovering one firearm. Two individuals have been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police have not yet released the victim’s name pending family notification. No further details about the suspects or a potential motive were disclosed as of Wednesday morning.

The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
