West Palm Beach Woman Missing After Fleeing Newark Hospital

NEWARK, NJ — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 26-year-old woman from West Palm Beach, Florida, who disappeared after fleeing a Newark hospital last week.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. said Teresa Maki, who suffers from post-traumatic stress syndrome, was reported missing on Friday, December 27, 2024. She was last seen after arriving at Newark Liberty International Airport on December 24 with a male companion.

The pair were detained at the airport, and Ms. Maki was transported to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for evaluation. She fled the hospital soon after and may be attempting to travel to Brooklyn.

Ms. Maki is described as a white woman, standing 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 100 pounds, with blonde hair.

Officials are urging anyone with information about Ms. Maki’s whereabouts to contact the Newark Department of Public Safety.
