Police investigate report of possible shots fired at Christiana Mall

NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating a report of possible shots fired outside the Christiana Mall on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred on December 29, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot near Macy’s. Troopers responding to the scene determined there was no active threat to the public, and no injuries or victims have been reported.

Preliminary findings indicate an unidentified Black male displayed what appeared to be a firearm while walking through the parking lot. The mall was closed at the time of the incident, and investigators are working to confirm whether any shots were fired.

The suspect’s identity remains unknown, and authorities have not yet released surveillance footage or images.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to gather additional details.
