Queens man dies after Haight Street shooting; second victim injured

QUEENS, NY — A 37-year-old man has died following a shooting on Haight Street in Flushing that also left a second man injured, police said.

The incident occurred on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at approximately 9:19 p.m. Officers responded to a 911 call and found Yun Li, 37, with a gunshot wound to the head near 41-21 Haight Street. EMS transported Li to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries on Monday, December 23.

A second victim, a 42-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to the right cheek. He was transported to the same hospital by private means and is reported to be in stable condition.

No arrests have been made, and authorities have not disclosed a motive for the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing, with detectives from the 109 Precinct pursuing leads.
