Urgent search underway for missing 14-year-old girl in Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating 14-year-old Leah Gayles, who was last seen on Sunday, Dec. 29, in the 300 block of V Street NE.

Leah is described as a Black female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair styled in two puff-style ponytails. She was last seen wearing a gray striped hoodie and black-and-white Vans shoes.

The Washington D.C. Metro Police Department is urging anyone with information on Leah’s whereabouts to contact them at 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous text to 50411.

Efforts to locate Leah remain ongoing as police work to ensure her safe return.
