Lewes man arrested for stalking and harassment after sending over 40 unsolicited emails

LEWES, DE — Delaware State Police have arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with stalking and harassment incidents involving a woman in Lewes last month, authorities announced.

Daniel Wilkowski, of Lewes, was taken into custody on January 4, 2025, by the Milton Police Department during an unrelated investigation. He was later charged with stalking and harassment stemming from a series of unsolicited and sexually explicit emails sent to the victim in December 2024.

Police said the victim, whose identity is being withheld, contacted troopers on December 26 to report over 40 alarming emails received from Wilkowski within a one-week period. The content of the emails caused the victim significant concern and led to the investigation.

Troopers obtained an arrest warrant for Wilkowski but were initially unable to locate him. His arrest was made possible after Milton police encountered him during an unrelated case.

Wilkowski was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,100 secured bond.
