Pitcairn man charged in double stabbing incident, police say

PITCAIRN, Pa. — A 65-year-old man has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident that left two men injured in the 300 block of Broadway Boulevard on Monday evening, authorities said.

Allegheny County 9-1-1 received reports of the assault at 7:16 p.m., prompting a response from first responders who found a 67-year-old man and the 65-year-old suspect, both suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds. Both men were transported to a nearby hospital and are in stable condition, police said.

The Allegheny County Police Department’s General Investigations Unit took over the case, initiating a probe into the circumstances surrounding the altercation.

Through their investigation, detectives determined that Barry Bishop, 65, had initiated the confrontation that led to the injuries.

Bishop now faces charges, including aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person, police confirmed.
