CONNEAUT, OH — A Powerball ticket purchased at Conneaut Clark Station has made one lucky Ohio Lottery player $1 million richer following the Wednesday, January 8, drawing.

The winning ticket, bought at the store located at 220 State Street in Conneaut, matched all five white ball numbers—1, 20, 36, 38, and 43—securing the $1 million second-tier prize. The winning numbers were selected using auto pick.

“We were just talking the other day about how nobody ever wins from Ohio,” said store cashier Stephanie. “We were really shocked, but we’re excited too.”

The winner will take home approximately $720,000 after federal and state tax withholdings totaling 28 percent. The odds of matching 5-of-5 numbers to win the $1 million prize are 1 in 11,688,054.

The Powerball jackpot for Saturday, January 11, has climbed to an estimated $263 million.
