Suspect in Myrtle Beach barricade situation taken into custody, no injuries reported

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A suspect was safely taken into custody Tuesday night after a barricade situation unfolded in Myrtle Beach, police said.

The incident began around 6:50 p.m. when officers responded to a disturbance at 306 9th Avenue North involving reports of a person pointing and presenting a firearm.

The situation escalated into a barricade scenario, prompting a significant police response to the area.

By 9:38 p.m., Myrtle Beach Police confirmed that one individual had been taken into custody without incident, and no injuries were reported.

Authorities stated there are no ongoing threats, though an increased law enforcement presence may continue in the area as the investigation proceeds.
